Do you give yourself thumbs up?

I was reading some reviews of the new Spider-Man movie and came across one review written by someone else, that could have been written (much worse) by me, so I checked out that persons profile to see if there were other movies we agreed on. I noticed that they had given all of their own reviews thumbs up. Is it me or is that a little weird? ;o) You wrote it, of course you agree with it, so why give yourself a thumbs up. Doesn’t it “go without saying”?

Indrømmet, jeg har gjort det et par gange, men så fandt jeg ud af, at det er meget sjovere at give mig selv thumbs up IRL...

Thanks for that, it was very honest of you ;o) I have never found myself in situation 1. Probably due to the fact that I’m not clever. I have been in situation 2 many times, but it never crossed my mind to give myself a thumbs up (not being clever and all)
I didn’t think we could give ourselves thumbs up until the other day, but I guess you also get a point out of it. If you like collecting Kino points, then there’s one “valid” reason.

Jeg kan forestille mig to situationer, hvor thumbs up til sig selv kunne komme på tale:

1) Hvis man genlæser noget, man har skrevet for et stykke tid siden, og bliver så "excited" over hvor godt og klogt det er skrevet, at man bare MÅ give det en thumbs up!

2) Hvis man har fået en hel bunke thumbs down men ingen thumbs up. Så kan man jo lige give sig en trøste thumbs up.

Jeg vil gerne gå til bekendelse og erklære mig skyldig i at have været i situation 1) en gang eller to for længe siden. Og måske også i situation 2) :-)

Jeg kunne dog aldrig drømme om at gøre det nu, hvor nærmest alt hvad man klikker på bliver registeret og kan ses af alle andre brugere.

I don't think the thumbs are worth much, but I wouldn't say they're worthless. But if they are worthless why give one to yourself. A worthless pat on the back, where's the sense in that? ;o)
